Aichi Steel completes stainless steel EAF renovation

Aichi Steel, a Japanese steel manufacturer, has completed the renovation of its No.1 electric arc furnace (EAF) for stainless steel products at Chita Plant in Tokai with the help of Steel Plantech (SPCO), a leading steel plant engineering manufacturer in Japan.

The upgrade, with a cost of 1 billion yen, was to expand stainless steel production. The renovation conducted by SPCO included the furnace’s mechanical equipment, such as the aging furnace outer shell. Besides, the ancillary control system was also improved.
