Global aluminum market has shortage of 1.268 million tons in Jan-Sep 2021

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global aluminum market has a shortage of 1.268 million tons in the first nine months of this year. The supply surplus in 2020 was 1.295 million tons.

During the January-September period, global aluminum demand was 51.94 million tons, increasing by 4.173 compared to the same period a year ago.

Statistics from the International Aluminum Institute (IAI) showed that global primary aluminum output amounted to roughly 50.64 million tons in the first nine months of 2021, growing by 4.4% year on year.
