Japan’s cold-rolled sheet and strip shipment declines in Apr

According to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan’s shipment of cold-rolled sheets and strips totaled around 334,000 tons in April, falling by 25% compared to the previous month and by 15% from the year-ago level.

Among them, around 57% of them were shipped to the domestic market, and the residual was sent to export markets.

During the same period, Japan’s production of cold-rolled sheets and strips totaled roughly 328,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 19% and a year-on-year drop of 7%.
