Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), the largest stainless steel manufacturer in India, adopted a new way to ship stainless steel coils within India on September 29.

JSL transported steel coils in containers from Paradip to Chennai by using coastal shipping. These steel coils were loaded onto the vessel MV SSL Thamirabarani V-14 at Paradip International Cargo Terminal.

The way is very different from the traditional transportation ways commonly used by the Indian steel industry. The method helps India reduce carbon emissions for the transportation sector as it lowers fuel consumption.
