US’ steel mills shipments decrease in Apr

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in April, the shipments of the US’ steel mills totaled about 7.5 million net tons, decreasing by 1.7% from the same month a year ago but increasing by 1.7% from the previous month.

In the first four months of this year, the shipments of steel mills in the US totaled 28.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5%.

Among them, the shipments of the hot-rolled thin sheet, cold-rolled thin sheet, and corrosion-resistant flat products decreased by 3%, 5%, and 5% year on year, respectively.
