According to Usiminas, one of the major steel manufacturers in Brazil, the company invested more than R$100 million between 2019 and 2021 as part of a Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) signed in 2019, setting investment goals to reduce the deposition rate of particles.

Usiminas has increased its investments in environmental projects each year. The company planned to invest R$400 million in an environmental project between 2022 and 2024 at its steel plant in Ipatinga, Minas Gerais.

Usiminas said the amendment to the TAC set goals for 2022-2027. In the coming months, the company planned to start studies and structuring of the projects.
